Walk it out on the BeltLine. If the weather is nice, start in Piedmont Park and go for a walk on the Atlanta BeltLine. The Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail extends 3 miles from Midtown to Reynoldstown and makes for great people-watching and exercise. Pop into Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market for good eats, drinks, and shopping along the way.
Good eats. Fun food spots aside from the food halls mentioned above include: Antico-Pizza Napoletana or Varuni Napoli for some of the best pizza ATL has to offer, The Optimist for incredible seafood, JCT Kitchen & Bar is where my husband and I had our first date and they have a great menu, BOCADO and Holeman and Finch Public House have the best burgers in the city, and La Parrilla is where I get my Mexican and my cheese dip.
Batter up. If the Atlanta Braves are in town, you could go to a game at SunTrust Park. There’s a neat area called The Battery outside of the ballpark with tons of restaurants, bars, shops, even a concert venue.
Take a picture, it’ll last longer. For fun Instagram-worthy pictures, visit Jackson Street Bridge–this will give you a great skyline shot. There are also lots of murals and street art throughout the city–this guide can point you to some good ones.
