Things To Do in Atlanta

Though I’m not a native Atlantan, I’ve called Atlanta home for most of my life. With the world’s busiest airport just miles from the city, there always seems to be people passing through looking for recommendations and things to do. Below is a guide to help you find fun things to do in Atlanta!

Walk it out on the BeltLine. If the weather is nice, start in Piedmont Park and go for a walk on the Atlanta BeltLine. The Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail extends 3 miles from Midtown to Reynoldstown and makes for great people-watching and exercise. Pop into Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market for good eats, drinks, and shopping along the way.

Good eats. Fun food spots aside from the food halls mentioned above include: Antico-Pizza Napoletana or Varuni Napoli for some of the best pizza ATL has to offer, The Optimist for incredible seafood, JCT Kitchen & Bar is where my husband and I had our first date and they have a great menu, BOCADO and Holeman and Finch Public House have the best burgers in the city, and La Parrilla is where I get my Mexican and my cheese dip.

Game on. The Painted Duck and The Painted Pin both offer upscale bowling experiences and fun game rooms. Ormsby’s is fun for a drink and bar games (e.g. bocce, shuffleboard, etc.)

Batter up. If the Atlanta Braves are in town, you could go to a game at SunTrust Park. There’s a neat area called The Battery outside of the ballpark with tons of restaurants, bars, shops, even a concert venue.

Take a picture, it’ll last longer. For fun Instagram-worthy pictures, visit Jackson Street Bridge–this will give you a great skyline shot. There are also lots of murals and street art throughout the city–this guide can point you to some good ones.

This should be enough to keep you busy for a few days in Atlanta. But if you run out of things to do or are looking for something in particular, drop a comment and I can give you additional recs. Are you an Atlantan and know of something cool I should check out? Give me a holler–I love discovering new fun places!
